Then—Wrinkled clothes were ironed with steam and wrinkled faces were esteemed with honor. Polyester and perma-press aided the battle with wrinkles and creases. By contrast, wrinkled skin was respected, regarded as an indication of wisdom.

Now—Clothes are worn wrinkled and facial wrinkles are covered, creamed, and injected. Priorities have flipped, reflecting our priority of comfort and ease.

In Eternity—Our clothing, clean and bright, will be woven from the righteous acts we do on earth. We will look radiant, without stain or wrinkle.

Our bodies will not show signs of deterioration but reflect vigor and vitality. We will be energized by the presence of Jesus and all there is to discover. Not only will our wrinkles be gone but all our creaks, aches, and throbs.

Our spirits won’t bear the wrinkles of worry, creases of bitterness, or marks of fear. We will be beautiful!

It matters not that I won’t be ironing Heaven’s garments. It matters greatly that I will be found without wrinkle.

In the meantime, think about a wrinkle-less future…

  • And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Revelation 19:8
  • Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy… and to present her to himself… without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:25-27
  • I saw the Holy City… prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband… He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” from Rev. 21:2-4
  • After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. Rev. 7:9
