Worship is Entrance

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalm 100:4
Praise and worship is the entry way to God’s presence. But let’s go beyond the how to think about the where. Worship ushers us into the presence of the Creator of the universe. The One whose words formed worlds and whose breath birthed life allows, invites, welcomes us into His dwelling place. He hears our worship, opens the door, and bids us to come in.
Worship is not something we do, it’s a place we go. The deeper we enter, the less aware we are of ourselves and more overcome by Who we worship. Our surroundings fade for we have stepped onto holy ground.
This place is filled with awe and wonder, mystery and discovery, beauty and peace, adoration and intimacy. It no longer matters who stands beside us, who plays the music, or what comes next, for we are mindful only of the Holy One we worship. Our hearts are full, our hands lifted, and our minds at peace.
We should not be quick to leave this place. This is a place to linger and surrender, wait and receive. The Lord made this way into His presence through great sacrifice and invites us to enjoy the blessing He purchased. Indeed, He enjoys our time together more than we do.
Let us bring our sacrifice of praise with hearts of worship and surrender all to spend time before the One who is over all.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus… let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings. Hebrews 10:19, 22a

Praise the Lord. I like what you said that worship is not what we do but a place we enter. Even though we are in God and He is in us, true worship can help us to go deeper into Him, make us more aware of His Presence.Reply by: Barbara Higby Author
