A year full of thanks and peace! That’s part of my desire for 2022. In addition to being thank-full and peace-full, I want to be mindful.
I don’t want to live on auto-pilot, doing what I do by default, neglecting what I’ve previously ignored, unaware of opportunities for growth and service.
I don’t want realization to appear in the rearview mirror—I want to face forward with anticipation.
I want to be watchful, careful of others, attuned to the world around me.
I don’t need to stop and smell the roses, I need to notice the roses so I can stop and appreciate their stunning beauty, the softness of their petals, the intricacy of their design, and, yes, their fragrance.
I invite you to a FULL 2022 by being mind-full of your blessings, your surroundings, your opportunities. How God-like this invitation is! He is mindful of every sparrow and lily. He counts the stars and our strands of hair. He knows when we sit and when we rise. Let’s be like Him, attentive and mindful.
You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
Psalm 139:2-6
You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
